Care Sector Workshop

In the Care Sector employees need to have excellent inter-personal skills, with listening, empathy and compassion at the forefront.

Success is partially a matter of choosing compassionate employees at the outset. So interviewing skills can make a huge difference. But success is also about training new employees in the culture of your organisation, your systems and your processes.

If they want to work for you then you will retain then. Sadly many leavers feel pushed, not pulled. That can be changed. And the change means more time to make good selections in the first place.

Some employees need to be managed more than others. Knowing how to exercise informal discipline and, on occasion, being able to put responsibility on to employees to attend reliably are valuable skills. They are skills that can be fed down the line.

Training, teamwork and a sense of professional responsibility, even pride, makes a real difference to performance. Engagement and commitment are crucial values to develop.

Who will deliver the workshop?

The workshop will be delivered by Malcolm Martin and Anita Manfredi of Employer Solutions.

Malcolm develops policies and procedures for care sector organisations. He has been advising owner-managed and charity-run care homes since 2001 and is co-author of one of the best selling HR Books: Human Resource Practice.

Anita has a substantial background in HR having worked for a variety of large companies including Business Post/UK Mail and Reebok UK. Anita has operated in an advisory capacity during her HR career with considerable experience in dealing with disciplinary and grievance related matters.

30 minute HR Surgery (after the workshop) – provides delegates with the opportunity to gain free HR advice from our experts regarding any current HR challenges.
